Origin

In the late 1930s research chemist Darrel Dane discovered a serum that could shrink living beings. Testing it upon himself, Dane developed the ability to reduce his size at will; while maintaining his normal-sized strength. After rescuing his fiancée from a kidnapper, Dane used his ability to battle crime as the diminutive Doll Man.

Special operatives soldier and international policy adviser Lester Colt became romantically involved with S.H.A.D.E. scientist Emma Glen, whose father was working on an experimental formula which could shrink living organisms. Exposed to the shrinking formula, Colt became permanently reduced to the size of six inches. Manipulated by S.H.A.D.E., Colt became a take-no-prisoners action figure known as the Doll Man.
