Being of unknown origin with abilities similar to typical Atlantians possessing the ability to breath both above and below the surface of water, superhuman strength, speed, agility, stamina and keen eyesight adapted to the pressure and darkness of deep water depths.
Note: Dolphin must return to the sea every five or six hours or risk suffocation.

Saved from drowning by a mysterious alien race an unnamed girl was subjected to experiments that mutated her into an amphibian with gills and web hands and feet as well as resistance to deep water pressure.
Escaping captivity the girl lived in seclusion for several years aboard a submerged navy ship. Discovered by a pair of U.S. Navy divers, she was brought aboard their ship.
Unable to speak, and possessing aquatic attributes the mysterious girl was given the name Dolphin.
