John Constantine is the unwilling heir to an ancestral line of sorcerers spanning back to King Kon-Stan-Tyn, who was sought by Merlin to be heir to the legendary King Arthur.
Kon-Stan-Tyn grew more powerful in his sorcerer abilities betrayed and murdered Merlin. Sustaining his life by sacrificing his sons to dark forces, one of which was born of a supernatural being,eventually the sorcerer king would fall victim to the same dark forces that served him.
John Constantine hopes to be the last burdened with the mystical powers he considers a curse.
