Bodyguard Sasha Bordeaux was hired by Wayne Technologies board of directors to protect their chief executive officer, Bruce Wayne. Wayne did not wish to have a bodyguard shadowing his every move and allowed his secret identity as Batman to be discovered by Bordeaux. Wayne recruiting his body guard in his war on crime more to control her than out of a need for a partner. After the mercenary David Cain framed Bruce Wayne for the murder of Vesper Fairchild, Bordeaux was forced to keep her silence when questioned by the Gotham police or risk revealing her employer's secret. While in Blackgate prison awaiting trial, Bordeaux was assaulted by a fellow inmate and died from internal hemorrhaging. She was resurrected and recruited by the government agency known as Checkmate, assuming a new identity and disappearing from Bruce Wayne's life. |
