|Fathom Preview (1998)|
After being lost at sea for 10 years, the cruise ship Paradise returned to harbor with a young girl being the only member of the ship's passengers not accounted for on the manifest. The girl was adopted by a U.S. Navy captain and named Aspen.
Aspen's love of the ocean lead to her becoming an Olympic swimmer, but she was suspended when the Olympic committee could only explain her uncanny talents as a result of blood doping. She went onto a career as a marine biologist in Hawaii eventually working for the Deep Marine Discovery Research Laboratory. It was during her duties for the D.M.D. that she met a mysterious man capable of transmuting to water, a mysterious man who may be the key to her own origins found deep within the ocean Fathom.
