Origin

One of six west-coast teenagers living relatively happy and normal lives, Gertrude Yorkes had a loving by occasionally confrontational relationship with her parents, until she along with other teens discovered that their parents were members of a supervillain group called the Pride.

After witnessing the sacrificial murder of a teen girl, Yorkes resolved to make her parents pay for their crimes.

Yorkes and the other teens went looking for evidence to convict their parents. Finding a secret passage in her home's basement she and the other teens found a prehistoric dinosaur. A holograph of her parents informed Yorkes that the animal was genetically engineered centuries into the future to serve as her protector and companion. Taking her codename from the 1944 comedy movie, she dubbed herself and the dinosaur Arsenic & Old Lace.
