Origin

When the Scarlet Witch cast a spell to transform most mutants into normal humans, an event known as the House of M, few mutants remained and no new mutants were being born until a baby girl came into the world in the small Alaska community of Cooperstown. Her mutation manifest at birth resulted in the release of powerful psychic energies alerting both the X-Men as well as their enemies the Marauders and the Purifiers. Some believed baby girl was a mutant messiah and some believed that she was equivalent to an Antichrist who would bring about the destruction of mutantkind.

Two mutants from the future battle for the fate of the child. One is Bishop, who believes the child to be the catalyst of the bleak future from which he came. The other is Cable, the son of X-Men leader Cyclops, tasked with protecting the child upon which many mutants have placed their Hope.
